MTEA is known as Pertubuhan Ekonomi Malaysia Taiwan or Malaysia Taiwan Economic Association. MTEA is a newly formed Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) under the Akta Pertubuhan 1966 and Peraturan- Peraturan Pertubuhan 1984. MTEA’s objective is to boost Malaysia’s economy in the coming years, create local job opportunities and strengthen the economic business relations between Malaysia and Taiwan.
MTEA aims to promote interaction, cooperation and development in investments, trade, industrial and commercial fields between Malaysia and Taiwan as well as protecting the interest of our members.
MTEA acts as a platform to connect Taiwan investments into local infrastructural projects, international trades, real estate developments, green industry, industrial and commercial fields, etc and vice versa. Besides investments, MTEA also encourages the business innovations and information technology exchange between Malaysia and Taiwan to improve the economy in both nations.
Strategic cooperations between MTEA and TAEF (Taiwan Asean Economic Forum) to collaborate and coordinate in maintaining the economic, trade, cultural exchange, etc. MTEA and TAEF signed the memorandum of cooperation on the 14th October 2018 at Kuala Lumpur.
